Post-secondaryteaching assistants perform some or all of the following duties:
Organizereference materials, visual aids and other materials as required by universityprofessors or college teachers for lectures
Conductseminars, discussion groups and laboratory sessions to supplement lectures
Assistin the preparation and administration of examinations
Gradeexaminations, term papers and laboratory reports.
Research assistants perform some or all of the following duties:
Conductliterature reviews, surveys, laboratory experiments and other research for usein scholarly publications
Compileresearch results and assist professors in the analysis of results and thepreparation of journal articles or papers.
Post-secondary teaching and research assistants specialize in a subject matterbased on their field of study.
