Mainduties

Home building and renovation managers perform some or all of the followingduties:

Plan,organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities of a residential homebuilding or renovating company

Preparebids for home construction or renovation projects

Consultwith customers, architects and engineers regarding plans and specifications

Select,employ and supervise trade subcontractors to do specialized work, such asplumbing, heating and electrical work

Planand prepare work schedules and co-ordinate the activities of subcontractors

Inspectwork performed by subcontractors to ensure quality and conformity with plansand specifications

Prepareand maintain a directory of suppliers and trade subcontractors

Developand implement marketing and advertising strategies to promote company'sproducts and services

Mayperform carpentry or other trade work during home construction or renovationactivities.
