Mainduties
Food service supervisors perform some or all of the following duties:
Supervise,co-ordinate and schedule the activities of staff who prepare, portion and servefood
Estimateand order ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation
Preparefood order summaries for chef according to requests from dieticians, patientsin hospitals or other customers
Establishmethods to meet work schedules
Maintainrecords of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
Trainstaff in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures
Superviseand check assembly of regular and special diet trays and delivery of foodtrolleys to hospital patients
Ensurethat food and service meet quality control standards
Mayparticipate in the selection of food service staff and assist in thedevelopment of policies, procedures and budgets
Mayplan cafeteria menus and determine related food and labour costs.
